How to Draw a Gingerbread House – let’s get Initiated!
Step 1
We will draw the roof and the chimney in this first step of our guide on drawing a gingerbread house. We’ll go for a snowy look for this gingerbread house and reflect it with the lines we used for the drawing. For the roof, you will draw a pronounced arched shape. This shape will have a smooth line on top, but underneath you’ll use lots of rounded lines to make it look like snow.
Then you can draw two straight lines from the proper slope of the roof, and then we’ll remove the snowy top of the chimney using curvier lines. That will be enough for this first step, and we’ll continue to add to the house as we go.
Step 2
Your gingerbread house drawing will be full of beautiful details and festive designs. We’ll begin adding them in this second grade. First, draw a row of small circles on the roof outline you drew in the previous step. This will make it look like a row of little candies nailed to the ceiling.
Then draw some rounded shapes on the top lines of the roof to make even more candy stick out from the ceiling. Next, we’ll draw a cute star on top of the ceiling, and this will join two small straight lines. Finally, we’ll make this image cozier by removing wavy smoke from the chimney.
Step 3
There are already many delicious sweets in your house, but you can never have too many sweets! For that reason, we’ll add a few more in the next step of our guide on how to draw a gingerbread house. First, start by drawing a large circle under the roof’s peak. This will have some swirl lines on the inside and some small shapes on the side to make it look like candy in a wrapper.
Then we’ll draw some wavy lines below and add small circles. We will complete this step with some candy cane holders for the house. You can remove them with some straight lines with curved lines along that characteristic candy cane pattern.
Step 4
Continuing with your gingerbread house drawing, we will add some windows to it in this step. You can make these windows by drawing two slightly rounded squares with four smaller squares inside each.
Then there will be some rectangles below the windows with more of that candy cane pattern decorating them. Finally, we will finish with some small circles above the windows. Then you’re glad for some last pieces in the next step!
step 5
Before we color your drawing, we have some final details to add in this fifth part of our guide on drawing a gingerbread house. First, you can use a rounded line for the house’s front door. This will have a little window with a heart around the top.
Finally, we’ll finish with round shapes for some tasty trees at the house’s base. These will fill in our final details, but feel free to add more of your own! You can draw your favorite candies on this house or add some more Christmas decorations for some festive ideas.
Step 6
Your gingerbread house drawing is almost done, and all you need are some beautiful colors to finish it. We’ve shown you some of the colors we’d use in our reference image, but you should take this opportunity to use any of your favorite colors to finish it off. The more bright, cheery colors you can incorporate into this image, the better!
