Dudhsagar trek from Bangalore is a very popular trek destination. It’s also one of India’s most beautiful waterfalls and is a must visit while in Goa.

There are two ways to start a trek. Either we launch a trek from Kulem railway station. It is the most comfortable option for Mumbai. Pune side people can start a trek from Castlerock railway station . It is a most convenient option for Bangalore side people.
Location:
This waterfall is fed by the Laxman River from the western ghats. It is located near Virajpet in Kodagu district of Karnataka state, India. The falls are named after the River Dudh Sagar which translates to “Sea of Milk”.
It is 60 km from Panaji by road and is located on the Belgavi–Vasco Da Gama rail route. It is about 46 km east of Madgaon and 80 km south of Belgavi. The Dudhsagar Falls are considered as one of the most beautiful waterfalls in India. It is at a height of about 200 feet and a width of about 800 feet.
From Joshimath, follow the road to Topsi. After about 2km, turn left onto Nainital road. Follow this road for 30km before turning right onto NH 128 (Kapasan Rd). After 6km, turn left onto NH 204/ NH 67. Follow this road for about 2km until you come to a T-junction. Take a right here to reach Dudhsagar Falls Trailhead.

Dudhsagar waterfall trek is one of the most popular trek in India. It can be done by anyone and is a great way to enjoy the natural beauty of the place.
The falls are situated on the Mandovi River which has been named after them. Locals call this place “Doodh Suggur” meaning ‘milk torrent’. The Dudhsagar Falls are build up by three waterfalls called “Anshi”, “Vasuki” and “Dudhsagar”.
The Location
The Dudhsagar waterfall trek is located on the eastern Ghats in Uttarakhand. It is one of the most popular treks in India. The hike takes around 8–10 hours and starts at the base of the Dudh Sagar Lake.
It traverses through dense forest and ends at the base of the waterfall. Here you can swim in the crystal-clear water. The best time to visit this area is between April and June. The temperatures are mild and there is less rainfall. To get to the trailhead, take a train from Dehradun to Joshimath. Or you can take a taxi from New Delhi or Lucknow.
There are many waterfalls along Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary inside Dudhsagar waterfalls. The trail starts with a steep trek.
The views
A boat ride on Kabila Dam gives us wonderful views of the Dudhsagar Water Falls.
Crash into rocky walls and dance for about 10 kilometres. Before joining other falls at Shenkottai, Ramtekeli and finally ending at Triveni falls. If we’re feeling adventurous, enjoy a 20-minute trek from here to Kalayat panchayat. That will take us back to Rongva via Gundarna Ghat.

- The time taken for the trek ranges from three to six days. Depending on how much time we want to spend in each village. At viewpoints and enjoying views of the mountains and rivers around.
- The terrain is challenging – we will be walking uphill most of the time. There are also plenty of sections where we can walk downhill or just a very gentle slope.
- It can get really cold at night so make sure to carry enough warm clothes with we if possible

- People with health conditions or those who are expecting shouldn’t go for the hike. Either because it’s really hard and strenuous.
